My Happy Thoughts
I started out this blog "episode" by writing a really sappy intro. It was so sappy, even I didn't like it. So this is the do-over.
This blog isn't going to be a showcase of real estate, or my fancy photography (or what I "fancy" to be my fancy photography). Instead, I just want to show you a few things I am thankful for.
These are my happy thoughts. Every single day.
Be it ever so humble, old and half-finished... there's no place like home. Someday we'll polish it up. For now, we gave it a face-lift with a new coat of paint. Thanks to my husband, son and daughter and her boyfriend for helping us get this project done! I love this house and I'm thankful for it.
My Grandson, Charlie. He makes me smile every day.
My kids, the wonderful spouses they brought into (and are about to bring into)
this family, my husband, our grandson. (And coming in October, a Granddaughter!)
Tanner. So obnoxious. So lovable.
Buddy, so ... not brilliant. So snuggly.
What can I say about Optimus? She is beautiful, and special to me.
Speaking of special... these next two photos are my 2 dearest friends. These are the kind of friends that you share something special with. Even though there might be miles or years between the time we get to spend together, there is still something unbreakable there.
I'm so very thankful for these two ladies.
It's embarrassing and stupid that I can't find any recent photos of me with my cousin, BFF and partner in crime, Kim. This photo was taken in 2010, I think. My husband says when we get together we act like teenagers. He's probably right... but it's all her fault.
And this is me with my dear friend Shannon, who has been special to me since we were kids.
It's truly an honor to be able to call her my friend.
So there's a tiny little peek into my life. These are absolutely not all of my happy thoughts. I've just run out of time and room. I am more than thankful for my Mom, my Brothers, my Mother-in-Law, my Co-Workers, my Boss, and my Church and the people there who have loved and encouraged us.
And last but not least... I'm really thankful for chocolate. And ice-cream.
I'm so thankful, I'll probably go eat some right now.

Real Estate Highlights for August
I have such a fun job! I get to tour all kinds of homes, from the lovely to the not-so-lovely, and the spacious to the teeny tiny. Here are my favorite shots from the last 2 weeks of real estate photography.
Logus St. Oregon City
This home lives in the Historic Oregon City area, but was built in 2007.
It has a great view of the city from its two front decks!
Tonya Ct. Beavercreek
This home has been thoroughly remodeled. Everything is new, and it sold in less than a week.
Childs Rd. Lake Oswego
Charming home on the Tualatin River. Wouldn't you love to sit on your back deck every evening and enjoy this view? So peaceful and calming. There's actual river access behind those trees.
Abby Ln. Clackamas
Speaking of wonderful backyards, check out the back deck of this Clackamas home! You could have some serious barbecues on this deck!

Oregon Angel Fund Event
It was a beautiful evening atop the old Washington High School in Portland Oregon. It's called "Revolution Hall" now. The school has been tastefully and artistically remodeled to include a few bars, an auditorium and an elevator to the rooftop "Deck". Revolution Hall hosts weddings, concerts, corporate luncheons and more.
It was on the Deck of Revolution Hall, that Oregon Angel Fund held their event. Oregon Angel Fund is an investor driven angel fund which supports new startups such as Globesherpa, RYNO, ActionSprout, and many more. At the event, the cherished "Exit Award" was given, and start-up company representatives were given a moment to share about their companies and thank investors for their support.
My contract with Oregon Angel Fund does not allow me to share any photos with people in them. Some of the investors prefer to stay anonymous. However, here are a few shots of the view from the deck and some of my favorites from the evening.

One of my favorites from the evening. I sort of took advantage of somebody's drink they left unguarded.
She actually caught me in the act and predicted that it was going to be a great shot!
The event lasted from 7pm-10pm. It was very challenging, as the light was constantly
changing, and there were tented, lit areas as well as open unlit areas to shoot.
I'm very excited and honored to have been asked to shoot this event.

Real Estate Highlights July 9th-20th

Dewey St.
This adorable Oregon City home is under 1000sf. and sold within 3 days of hitting the market.
This is a lot of kitchen for such a tiny house!
Dunhill St.
Next is this light and bright Damascus home. I LOVE the wood floors. So beautiful.
Alder St.
This beautiful, 3 level, West Linn home has a living room, 2 family rooms and 2 kitchens.
You know, in case the kids never move out.
This home also features a view of Mt. Hood from the deck, which can be
accessed from the living room as well as the Master Bedroom.
Ramsby Rd.
This one will blow you away! I'm including the entire Virtual Tour here so you can see the whole thing. This is the most unusual home I have ever seen. It's located on 19.87 beautiful acres outside of Molalla.
Isn't that the most unusual home ever? How about those indoor sidewalks?
Friday I received a call from a Real Estate Broker whose photographer injured his foot. She had 2 listings that needed to be photographed right away! So I drove out to NE AND SE Portland in one day to get them done for her.
SE Belmont St.
This is a charming older home with a finished basement and adorable backyard.
Prescott St.
Another older home, this one in NE Portland with a mostly finished basement that
is rumored to have a room that would be perfect for growing... "plants".

Hemstreet Maternity Session
Last October, I had the privilege of photographing Ren and Cassie Hemstreet's wedding.
Yesterday, I had the honor and joy of photographing their maternity session. What fun! Here are a few of my favorites, although, I admit, they are so photogenic, it was nearly impossible to narrow it down to just a few!
Baby Esmee is scheduled to arrive the first week of September!
These 2 (and a 1/2) are so easy to photograph!
We were all laughing because I placed them in this pose, but then said they looked like a 2-headed monster.
Cassie was such a good sport as I had her getting up and down and sitting and standing.
I can't wait to meet little Esmee and I hope I'll get to see her once in a while.
Good luck Ren and Cassie! It's obvious that little Esmee is already loved beyond measure.
