The holidays can be a busy time for photographers. Between the last week of November and the first week of January, I shot 3 Christmas events (one included Santa!), 2 Hotels, A Holiday light display for a business, a huge birthday party, 2 Senior Portrait Sessions, and 4 houses. Here are a few highlights:

In December I had a Senior Portrait session with Brylee Moyle. It was so much fun! Brylee brought a few of her track medals along and we took an edgy, dramatic, approach to her session.

Next was a Senior Portrait Session at Clackamas Community College, with Jeremy Carnahan. It was in the low 30's that day, and the wind chill factor brought the temperature down to the 20's, but the sky was blue and it was an otherwise beautiful day!

Here's my cousin and me, hamming it up in between shooting all the family portraits at this Family Christmas party.

After the holidays, the pace picked up quickly and I shot 2 homes in the first week of January.

This Oregon City home had multiple offers within 48 hours of being live on the market. I'd like to think it was my photography that drew buyers in, but more than that, it's a beautiful home, in a great neighborhood.

Lastly, another Oregon City home with lots of original charm, on a huge lot, and expected to sell fast!

So there you have it. A tiny little glimpse into my world over the holidays!

Last weekend my youngest daughter got married. Talk about an emotional roller coaster! I was the anxious and nervous mom, and I was also excited and so happy for her. Marissa married a great guy. Two years ago, when he ate a dried up, dead scorpion because the reward was dinner and ice cream at our house, I had a feeling that he was probably going to hang around.

He did... and we couldn't be happier for them.

The wedding was dreamy and romantic. The bride was stunning. And the groom looked pretty good too! We hired a photographer for the ceremony and portraits, but here are some highlights from the prep time and reception that I took and I'm so excited to share them with you!

When you're a photographer, you can control the light, your gear, and even your subject, to a degree, but one thing you have no control over is the weather. Sunlight can be your best friend or your worst enemy. Clouds can create beautiful, soft, diffused light and add interest to a photo, or they can make your photo look dreary and sad. And then there's rain. That's a completely different set of challenges! Fortunately, I've had the very best luck lately with perfect weather! Here are a few of my favorites:
